Steel Properties

AISI OHNS-01 / DIN 1.2510 is typically hardened to 60-62 HRC (Rockwell Hardness), making it suitable for demanding cold-work applications. It offers good strength characteristics, which are essential for tooling that must endure mechanical stresses and impacts. The steel also provides decent toughness, allowing it to withstand tough working conditions. Its wear resistance is moderate, attributed to its alloying elements, though not as high as some other high-chromium tool steels. Machinability is good in the annealed condition, but after heat treatment, it becomes harder and more challenging to machine.
