D2 Steel offers exceptional wear resistance, remarkable durability, superior front-line maintenance, and high treating resistance. Composed of 12% ledeburite chromium steel, it can be nitrided after specialized heat treatment. This steel is ideal for threading rolls and dies, cold trimming, cutting, and stamping tools for sheet thicknesses up to 6 mm, as well as precision cutting instruments for sheet thicknesses up to 12 mm.
HCHCR-D2 is a Cold Work Steel with high carbon and high chromium content, providing excellent wear resistance and toughness, thanks to the addition of 0.90% Vanadium. It is typically supplied in an annealed condition and can achieve a hardness range of 57-59 HRC. In its annealed state, it is machinable. D2 steel outperforms D3 steel due to its superior alloy composition.
HCHCR D2 tool steel is ideal for cold stamping and forming dies, cold forming rolls, chipper knives, punches, slitters, shear blades, tools, tire shredders, trimming tools, cutting and threading dies, stamping tools, and more.
